Mike

J. Michael (Mike) Cunningham met Christ in 1973 in the Air Force through a Bible Study led by an instructor pilot who was being helped by the ministry of the Navigators. Mike became passionate about studying the Bible and leading Bible studies during the first year of his Christian life at one point involved in or leading seven a week (yes it was a bit much).

In 1976 Mike left the Air Force and moved into the basement of a Navigator rep in Birmingham, AL. He lived with the family while working as a Cost Engineer and helping to start the UAB ministry of the Navigators. Jenny Strickland moved to Birmingham at the same time to work in the UAB ministry. In 1978 Jenny and Mike were married.

From 1978 through 1987 Jenny and Mike served in the Campus Ministry of the Navigators, at Michigan State University, the University of Tennessee, and Western Kentucky University. While at WKU Mike was the Area Supervisor for Middle Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt.

In 1987 Mike began ThM studies at Dallas Theological Seminary; he graduated with honors and received the Pastoral Ministries award as the outstanding Pastoral Ministries student.

During the last semester at DTS through the fall of 1992 Mike worked with the Charles E. Fuller Institute for Evangelism and Church Growth in the Meta Church Project.

In 1992 Jenny and Mike re-entered industry, Mike as a consultant in Project Management and Process Improvement, and later Jenny as a Special Education teacher. Both have been continually involved in leading Bible Studies, small groups, and Sunday Schools.

There has been a growing conviction that the Lord wanted to use their gifts more intentionally. Entrusting Truth is the means to that end.

Jenny and Mike have four children: John (27) married to Morgan and working as a CPA; Ranae (25) working and finishing her degree; Jeff (23) in his first year at OU Medical School; and Brian (20) in his sophomore year in pre-nursing at TTC.
